A brand-new business offering has just launched from a BBC Dragons’ Den backed franchise to appeal to those looking for a part-time enterprise.
Perhaps you are a parent wanting to work flexibly around your children or you could be someone who works part-time but is looking to work for yourself, this new franchise offering could be just the thing you are looking for.
Razzamataz Early Years Franchise has been created to cater to the demand for people wanting to work in the children’s performing arts industry but who do not have the relevant experience to launch a Razzamataz Theatre School.
MD and Founder of Razzamataz Denise Hutton-Gosney explains: “We run regular Discovery Den sessions across the UK where we meet many different potential franchisees. We can spot quite quickly who will make wonderful theatre school Principals but we also felt that many had lots of enthusiasm and potential but just not enough experience or time commitment to launch their own Razzamataz Theatre School. This is why we launched our Early Years Franchise, which doesn’t require the same time or performing arts experience as our regular theatre school.”
the Razzamataz Early Years Franchise consists of a brand-new product called Razz Tiny Tots, which is a class especially designed for babies (6 to 24 months) and their parent/carer. It will also include the established products of Razz Tots for children age two and three and Razz Minis for those age four and five.
“These classes will be run during the week rather than a Saturday and unlike the main school, there won’t be an end of year show to organise,” explains Denise. “This makes the franchise much more accessible to a wide range of people who can combine it with another part-time job or looking after children.”
As a special launch incentive, Razzamataz is looking for three dynamic franchisees to pilot this exciting product in return for a 50% discount.
There are many working mums already in the Razzamataz network and love the freedom and flexibility that being a franchisee offers.
“I’ve got a ten-month baby and a four-year old and I can work out my schedule around them so I can be there for them when they need me,” explains Kayleigh Redford, Franchisee of Razzamataz Newcastle, who combines a career that she is passionate about with looking after her young children.
Debbi Ledwith is the franchisee of Razzamataz Newbury. “Due to a change in my personal circumstances, I wanted to spend more time with my three young children, and needed more flexibility in my working life than teaching could give me. My three children attend Razzamataz and are really enjoying it. I am able to do my work when they are in bed, so I don’t lose any time with them.”
Helen Bell is the franchisee of Razzamataz Sheffield and has recently given birth to her baby boy Harrison. Helen started her business when she was 23 and currently has 406 students. “Although it can be tricky juggling a new born with work, I have made it happen. Razzamataz Sheffield performed at Disneyland Paris just five weeks after Harrison was born and I was able to be there with him cheering along our students and supporting Head Office as Stage Manager. I have the staff and set up in place now so I don’t plan to go back full time anytime soon but I can still enjoy financial freedom, which is really incredible.”
Another benefit to the Razzamataz Early Years Franchise is that it only requires a minimal financial outlay compared to many other franchises. The franchise fee is £5000 + VAT and there is a £2,500 launch marketing budget. The three pilot franchisees will pay just £2,500 + VAT.
“Although the price of the franchise is less, each franchisee will receive full support and training so previous experience in the performing arts or running your own business is not necessary,” adds Denise. “We are very excited about our new product because we will be able to welcome a much wider circle of franchisees to our friendly network.”
Razz Tots and Minis are already very well established with parents keen to share the progress of their children. “My eldest son has been going to Razzamataz for the last four years. He absolutely loves it and he enjoys going every week. His little brother and sister joined Razz Tots when they turned two. Today was their first day at Razz Minis. They went off without crying and their teachers were full of praise for them as they joined in all the activities. I am so proud of them all and so pleased we are part of the Razz Family!”
