Welcome to the team! Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m married to Dan and we have two beautiful girls – Georgie (6) and Bridget (3).
We live in a very rural town called Epworth in South Yorkshire with Leo, the Border Terrier, and our 6 chickens. I’ve spent my career in marketing, PR, Event Management and Corporate Communications.
I’m currently Chair of the PTA at my daughters’ school. I love being outside – walking, cycling, gardening and having picnics – and I’m a keen baker!
Why did you decide to go into business?
I’ve run my own successful business since 2004 but I wasn’t motivated to move with the changes within my industry.
So, I took 2 years out, had some lovely quality time with my children and now I am ready to start something new. I love the flexibility of working for myself and the opportunity to reap all of the rewards for my hard work.
I’ve been considering setting up as a virtual PA for about 3 years but was struggling to develop on my own. SmartPA is just want I need to get me started.
What does becoming a SmartPA Partner mean to you?
It gives me the confidence to start up in this industry with all the lessons learned and on the right path, first time, with some really solid advice and support behind me.
As a SmartPA Partner, what are you most looking forward to?
Learning new skills, meeting new people and being a little bit challenged again!
Who is your hero?
There is no one person in particular but I am inspired by strong women who challenge and change perceptions…
What advice would you give you other women considering going into business?
Don’t procrastinate… just do it! If you’ve got the desire and you’re prepared to work hard, the rewards are all yours for the taking.
