The team at Aspray franchise are delighted to announce that Aspray director, Andrea Loasby, has been named one of the insurance industry’s ‘Women of Influence’!
Andrea, who has headed up our sales team within our franchise division since joining Aspray 5 years ago, is just one name on a big-hitting list of just 27 women nationwide, who are together ensuring the insurance sector has a brighter future.
She joins 26 other top industry names in the list, compiled by leading independent industry magazine Insurance Business, with names including Inga Beale, the CEO of Lloyd’s of London.
As Insurance Business says, the list features not just the big names in the sector, but also “women who are shaping the course of the insurance industry outside of the spotlight, including those who are mentoring the next generation of female insurance professionals.”
This definitely includes Andrea, who utilises her 20+ years of financial services expertise on behalf of other women wishing to pursue a career in loss-assessing. She advises both women contemplating starting an Aspray franchise business and those in our property claims management team at head office. No wonder Andrea is described in the article as being “dynamic and business-savvy”!
The magazine notes how she has channelled determination, to not just succeed herself, but to enable others to follow her lead. That is very true. Her work in crafting our robust Aspray franchise sales model, which can allow women to realise their full potential and typically earn far more than they could in an employed role, has already seen female franchisees in locations ranging from Oxford to Sunderland and Northern Ireland, start and run their own loss assessing businesses.
Without giving you too many spoilers, Andrea has also written a book about franchising, due for publication later this year, which is aimed at helping entrepreneurial people achieve their business dreams should they choose to take what is often described as a “risky” route to growth by becoming franchisors.
Our Managing Director, James Whittle, says: “Making this ‘power list’ is an enormous achievement for Andrea and testimony to her dedication to not just her career, but the careers of others. The chosen Women of Influence inspire their peers every day and have broken down barriers to become some of the industry’s most influential leaders.
“We recognise that having Andrea’s dynamism behind our franchise model is of enormous benefit and one reason why we see high-achieving women coming through the ranks of our franchisees.”
The ‘Women of Influence’ list celebrates a changing dynamic in the insurance industry, where key roles have traditionally been taken by men. It highlights women who have broken into these executive and leadership roles, due to hard work and determination.
Andrea Loasby says: “This recognition was a huge surprise and I am truly flattered to appear on a list featuring some of the biggest female names in insurance and just 27 women in total. I hope this may allow me to come to the attention of more women, who wish to work hard and potentially change their lives by running their own Aspray franchise business.
“There are no barriers for those who give everything to their Aspray franchise business. The role on offer can also be hugely rewarding, with loss assessing being about providing support, timely solutions and peace of mind, at highly emotionally charged times, to those who have potentially suffered damage to their homes or commercial property. Our franchisees are there, in the field, assisting those who have experienced a devastating incident, such as flood, fire, an escape of water or a vehicle impact, calmly assisting the policyholder with their insurance negotiations. This can provide true job satisfaction.
“Whilst it was a surprise, I hope that my inclusion on the Women of Influence list will enable me to shape the careers of more women, who may then appear on this list in the future.”
