I have been a franchisee of Skycam’s for around 18 months or so now. I took on the franchise after spending years working for a large restaurant chain. The job I was in was both stressful and long hours.
I had absolutely zero experience in both photography and flying radio controlled drones, so this was something I needed to make sure I can do. I knew within about 10 minutes of speaking to the lady at Skycam that this was something that I would be able to pick up, due to the training they offered along with the ongoing support. I can honestly say, for anyone worried about photography or being able to fly drone, done be!! It is ridiculously easy to fly my drone (it practically flies on auto pilot), and the photography is also so much easier than photographing anything at ground level.
I picked up my first job from the direct result of the marketing given to me with my franchise. The job was to simply take an aerial shot of 100 acres of land near me. It was a very quick and easy £300 and I had the photos across to the client within a day.
The support given to me by the team at Skycam has been exceptional from the very start. I have direct mobile numbers of my account managers and they always pick up the phone when I call them.
Don’t be put off by the low asking price of the franchise (I too was finding it difficult to work out how they would be able to support me at this price), however, they have been lovely throughout the duration and always seem keen to help me out.
I have noticed a huge increase over the last 6 months in the amount of interest we are now receiving. I’m guessing this is a combination of marketing Skycam did for me along with just simple awareness from the public what with media coverage etc that you can hire out such things.
I’m now looking to take on another staff member to help me out as we are picking up allot of repeat clients now.
It’s the best thing I’ve done in 20 years!
