“With the strength and depth of expertise in the network, I know I can speak to clients confident in the knowledge that we can assist with all of their requirements.”
Experienced ERA partner Andrew Brackenbury joined the network in 2006 after a successful career as an account director for a large IT Services firm. Over the last eight years, his ERA business has become well established, and his brand and skills have developed as the market itself has evolved.
During his first 18 months as an ERA franchise partner, Andrew threw himself into the full range of work roles, to gain a full understanding of all sides of the business. But as his experience has grown, his strategic role within the organisation has also changed.
“Through the ERA mentoring process I was encouraged to focus on my key strengths,” says Andrew. “I now focus solely on business development – rather than project work – winning clients and managing the relationship. I utilise the experts within the network to deliver the projects.”
Over the years, Andrew has gained a clear impression of how an ERA franchise can benefit entrepreneurial hard-workers who want to do well. He cites the support of likeminded individuals and the group’s huge talent pool from which to draw experience as key reasons he’s thrived within the ERA network and won Consultant of the Year in 2009.
“This is fantastic for me as I know whatever a client’s business is – whatever goods or services they buy from a supplier, we have the ability to review and potentially bring improved value to them – whether that is cost savings or operational efficiencies,” says Andrew. “That is the strength of the network,” he adds, “I don’t think I have ever spoken to a client when there hasn’t been at least one area of the business that we could help with.”
And when he’s not hard at work, how does he like to unwind?
“I’m a keen rower and golfer,” says Andrew, “and used to play rugby until my knees gave up. My son plays now so I get involved with coaching the under eights.”
He may have hung up his rugby boots, but Andrew is just getting into his stride when it comes to his career. “ERA has helped me to plan my own future from a position of strength,” he says. “After eight years as an ERA consultant I can consider my future really positively and I am really looking forward to developing my business further.”
