Brothers Alex and Bill Newman, owners of Recognition Express Coventry are helping Nuneaton mum Sarah Wood chart her progress as she completes 40 fund raising events in a year to celebrate her 40th birthday, by designing and donating a new T-shirt every few months to promote all her forthcoming activities.
Sarah said: “I’ve just collected my third and final T-shirt, which will take me up to my 40th and final endeavour in December this year, a fundraising calendar. The T-
Shirts have helped me to raise money and are a really special keepsake to remind me of each and every event. I’m so grateful to Alex and Bill.”
Mother of four and a staff nurse on the Haematology ward at University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire, Sarah has done everything from selling kisses on Valentines day to swimming lengths of her local pool, and organising an auction with items donated by local businesses to raise money for cancer charity Leukaemia Care.
Bill Newman designed the t-shirts and said he thoroughly enjoyed the job as it gave him the chance to utilise the art degree he gained at Coventry University. He said: “Sarah is very driven and hugely enthusiastic and we’re very impressed that she has kept up the challenge. It was a pleasure to be able to help her in her efforts.’
