Hayley and Viv joined the Really Awesome Coffee franchise earlier this year. They currently run the franchise as a joint effort operating in Telford. We recently sat down with Hayley and Viv as a part of our ‘Day in the Life Of’ series and got them to document their day as a Really Awesome Coffee franchise partner.
6.00 – 7.00am
Our alarm goes off, we get up, get dressed, and then head straight downstairs to stick the kettle on.
We go outside to check the drop box for the sandwich delivery, and then go to the van to turn on the espresso machine and pie heater. After that, we go back inside for a cuppa and to turn the oven on.
7.00 – 8.00am
The sausage rolls/pasties are put into the oven. We transfer sandwiches into the van fridge, load the grinder with beans and check that all jugs are on board with the mats and tamper. We check that our crisps, flapjacks and chocolates are all stocked and that spares are on board.
At about 7.30am, we take the rolls and pasties out of the oven and temperature check them. They then get transferred into our pie heater in the van.
8.00 – 9.00am
We make a quick stop off at the supermarket to buy milk and juice, in case we need it for the round.
At 08:15am we get to our first stop of the day.
9.00 – 10.00am
We continue making stops.
10.00 – 11.00am
We ontinue making stops and temperature check all the food in the pie heater.
11.00 – 12.00pm
We continue making stops- always checking the stock levels in the fridge and baskets as we go.
12.00 – 1.00pm
We continue making stops and then grab a quick sandwich and maybe a latte for our lunch.
1.00 – 2.00pm
We continue with stops and also check sandwich levels, just in case an order is needed for the following day.
2.00 – 3.00pm
We finish with the last stop and head home. We then run the card terminal report and the end of day report on our touch screen point of sale system.
Once we get home we remove the jugs, mats and tamper from the back of van. We then do a quick temperature check on the food in the pie heater( if there is any left!) After that, we do a wipe down, sanitise the work top and also replenish our stock levels so that we are all good for the next day.
3.00 – 4.00pm
We cash up and do back office reports.
4.00 – 5.00pm
We collect our daughter from the childminder’s and then rest for the remainder of the evening.
