Why buy a franchise? That’s the question Rosemary Bookkeeping have been asking their franchisees. It might be for financial gains, flexibility, freedom or simply to do something for yourself. Whatever the reason, there’s no doubt that franchising is a great way for many people to get into business and get up and running quickly and successfully.
Rosemary Bookkeeping began as a small, independent bookkeeper but franchised their operation in 2008 because they saw the growth potential of expanding a strict system for bookkeeping and an established process and model, which has been continually improved as technology and the market sector moves on.
Being part of Rosemary Bookkeeping means you benefit from the support on offer and you can celebrate your achievements and successes with a whole network of like-minded people. Rosemary recently held their annual awards ceremony designed to celebrate the many and outstanding achievements of the franchisees in their network. Caroline O’Brien won Franchisee of the Year and Carol was Best Newcomer.
“Winning the award was really nice. Myself and my team have put a lot of effort in to get more clients and keep them happy so it made it all worthwhile. We’ve grown a lot in the last year and I’ve taken on an apprentice. Rosemary actively encourage us to take on staff to help us continue growing the business. There’s only so much you can do by yourself. Winning the award will give me extra credibility with my clients and help me win business. The support from Head Office is excellent, the team are approachable and friendly and help you overcome challenges very quickly,” explains Caroline.
“Winning the award was quite emotional for me. I was up against two other franchisees so it was a great feeling to win over and above other people. I won the award because of my positive attitude and I’ve also been quite involved in the franchise network by helping other franchisees who need some extra support with their bookkeeping work. I can’t tell you how much support we receive – it really makes a difference. I did consider going it alone but I knew nothing about running a business. With Rosemary you have someone to turn to for support if you come across something you’ve never seen before,” adds Carol.
The Rosemary Bookkeeping franchise now has over 20 nationwide offices operated by their franchise network, servicing the SME market of over four million businesses in the UK. The franchise is based on a unique business concept that has been established and refined since 2002 providing a bookkeeping system within a fully supported franchise package. Franchisees obtain huge flexibility with superb work life balance.
Rosemary Bookkeeping awarded their first franchise to Belinda Newton in 2010 and Belinda has just renewed for her second term. Rosemary Bookkeeping franchisees work with those small businesses who have never employed help before and their bookkeeper is their first outsourced resource.
Steve and TJ, a father and daughter team, are now the largest Rosemary Bookkeeping franchisees in the UK and they are enjoying the rewards of running their own business.
“We’ve established our business well over the last five years and we’ve just renewed our franchise term for a further five years. We’re confident that everything is going well and we can really make a success of our business. We wanted a flexible working life that I could fit around my children and my father, Steve, wanted something to do to keep him busy during retirement!,” explains TJ.
“It’s great to be part of such a great franchise. The support you receive in setting up your business is unbelievable and helps you to really hit the ground running. We’re also part of a team who we can call upon at any time,” adds Steve.
