On Thursday 9th September 2021 Blossom Home Care held their first Annual Blossom Conference during the day and the Blossom Awards on the night at Headlam Hall, County Durham.

Our Blossom office owners enjoyed interesting and informative keynotes from Nicky Marshall, Discover your bounce, Adil Khan from Cummings Young, and Fiona Leggott from Blossom Home Care.

After a bit of lunch we then continued our day with a team building activity – golf. This included putting, time on the driving range and onto the main golf course for a game of Texas Scramble. This was led by the fantastic golf pro’s at Headlam Hall. We ran a few competitions along the way…

The winners of the hole-in-1 – Liz from Durham Office and Emma from Malton Office. Putting Green winners – Tom from Durham Office and Adam from Beverley Office. Texas Scramble team winners were Durham Office and Beverley Offices. Winners could pick their prizes and we had on offer such things like wine glasses, gin glasses, Hotel Chocolat, and prosecco…

The Blossom Awards Ceremony

A glittering awards ceremony was held, where over 50 people attended to enjoy a night of food, fun, casino, and awards.

The purpose of the awards is to recognise those individuals or teams that are dedicated, committed and hard working within the Blossom Home Care brand that are delivering ‘just bloomin good care’.

Anyone within the Blossom network was invited to nominate themselves or others for these awards. We narrowed down the nominees and announced the shortlisted individuals or teams in July.

All categories were judged looking at key performance indicators +/- a judging interview to determine the winners of the awards.

The winners of the Blossom Home Care Awards 2021 together with the judge’s comments are detailed below:

New Franchised Office Award – The award was awarded to the office that exceeded their financial targets within the first few months; they have fantastic retention of staff and have received some great reviews from their service users. – WINNER – Barnard Castle Office

Registered Managers Award -The winner is a caring and passionate individual who continuously strives to develop and improve herself and her team. WINNER – Kelli Probst

Deputy Managers Award – This award was awarded to the Deputy Manager that is committed to her job, effectively supports her RM on a day-to-day basis, and is a positive, happy individual that goes the extra mile for anyone that needs her help. WINNER – Dawn Owen

Home Care Workers Award – This award was given to the winner because of her love for the Blossom brand and what it stands for. She understands her job role well, and is a caring and passionate individual. WINNER – Georgina Clegg

Senior Carer Award – The Senior Carer that this award was given to blew us away in the judging process with the in-depth knowledge and understanding they have of their job and about being a positive role model to the home carers. WINNER – Nicholas Ferguson

Blossom Team Award – The award was awarded to the office that has excellent documentation, has good levels of staff retention, 9.6 review rating, and performed the best in the Blossom network in their mock CQC inspection. WINNER – Northallerton Office

Blossom Champion Award – This award was awarded to a member of staff that could express the importance of the power of positivity and what it means within Blossom. She has been a part of Blossom for many years; she is passionate and dedicated to her job role and is a real Blossom Champion. WINNER – Carri Walters

Length of Service Award – 5 years – Each one of these people is hardworking, dedicated employees who go that extra mile in their work. They have shown commitment and dedication to Blossom Home Care. AWARDED TO – Karen Hood, Carri Walters, Dawn Owen

Casino winners – BLACKJACK – Bobbie from Durham Office and ROULETTE – Dawn from Northallerton Office.

Thank you to all the franchise owners and Blossom teams that joined us for the conference and Blossom Home Care Awards. Everyone made it such a great event with lots of fun and laughter!
