Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has today announced new opportunities in the South of England to own and run an award winning Card Connection franchise.
The company is now looking to recruit new franchisees to deliver and merchandise Card Connection’s extensive range of more than 1,500 quality greeting cards and gifts to retailers in several territories across the South.
“We have 70 franchisees in the UK and, as an established franchise organisation of almost 20 years, no new territories are available. However, due to retirement or personal reasons occasionally a franchise area comes up for sale,” explains Andrew Cutler, sales and franchise director, Card Connection. “These exciting opportunities offer the chance to take over established businesses, earning income from day one.”
Card Connection is one of the UK’s largest card publishers and is the market leader in the franchised distribution of greeting cards. Using a proven system, franchisees place greeting card ranges in retail outlets on a ‘consignment’ basis. This means the stock and display equipment is installed on free loan to the retailer. This is one step beyond ‘sale or return’ as Card Connection customers never have to buy the stock in the first place, only paying for what they sell. Franchisees supply national account customers include Budgens, Londis, Palmer & Harvey, Total, BP, WHS Travel, plus many, independent retailers.
Card Connection franchise areas available in the South of England now include: Plymouth, Enfield/Hertford, Luton, Milton Keynes, Brighton/Eastbourne and London West and North.
“Most of these franchises supply a balanced mix of both urban and rural retail stores,” confirms Cutler. “In addition, many have untapped potential and give the opportunity to build a successful business within some of the UK’s most economically vibrant regions.”
Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, the largest publicly owned greeting card publisher in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business. Successful candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, they would be expected to employ a small team, operate a warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.
Because the franchise networks in the UK and Ireland are complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20,000 (+ stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50K per annum.
