A glamorous gala dinner held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham earlier this month was the venue for the 4th One Oldham Business Awards ceremony, honouring the achievements of various businesses in the town.
Over 400 guests enjoyed a superb 3 course gala dinner at the glitzy black-tie event, amongst them were award winners Helan Graham and Stephanie Doherty, Directors of local home care provider Caremark, (Oldham and Tameside) who beat other new companies to take the Business Start Up award.
“We are thrilled to bits and still can’t believe it. There were 114 entries for various categories and we knew we had been shortlisted to the final 3 for Business Start Up but didn’t really think we would win it!” said Helan Graham
The event was sponsored by various local companies and the evening was filled with a variety of entertainments, including a 3 piece band from Oldham College and ended with a pyrotechnic display!
Caremark (Oldham & Tameside) provide personal care, domestic support and companionship services to adults living in Oldham and the surrounding areas. Having both worked together for the past 10 years at Oldham Local Authority within the Children, Young People and Families’ Directorate, they have a good understanding of the variety of needs and preferences their customers may have, which will help them shape a truly personalised service. Both Helan and Stephanie are passionate about providing a quality service to their local community and are looking forward to the continuing development of their new business.
The awards are given in recognition of business achievement and excellence among companies in the Oldham Metropolitan Borough, whether it is for innovation, creation of wealth in the Borough, inspirational leadership or good practice in people management, skills development or environmental projects.
