At-home care franchise, Home Instead Senior Care, is proud to announce a double win at the East Midlands Great British Care Awards, the glittering ceremony was held at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.
The much coveted awards celebrate excellence across the social care sector and pay tribute to individuals who have excelled in their work. Senior Care Coordinator, Angela Burke, from Home Instead East Northants won in the Home Care Coordinator category, she was described by the judges as a truly outstanding individual who displays a tremendous passion for her work. She leads her team from the front with skill and understanding.
Caregiver Ann Wiggett from Home Instead East Nottingham & Melton Mowbray collected her award in the Dementia Carer category; the judges commented that she had a knowledgeable and insightful approach to a well-constructed programme of care. Ann combined this with emotional warmth and obvious commitment and passion. Ann is keen to ensure that the person with dementia feels valued. Truly inspirational.
The Home Care Co-Ordinator award is presented to an individual who demonstrated to the judges their knowledge and skill in utilising their team in an effective and efficient way. They were also able to show that they have a vision in motivating and supporting their team whilst ensuring the client remains at the heart of the service.
The Dementia Care Worker award is presented to an individual who can reflect the specific skills needed to manage and deliver services which are sensitive to the needs of older people with dementia. They were also able to demonstrate an understanding of treating each person as an individual by giving a personalised service.
The winners of the regional Great British Care Awards will now go on to the national finals of these prestigious awards which will be held at The ICC, Birmingham June 2015.
Home Instead Senior Care has developed bespoke training courses that support their CAREGivers and provides them with the essential tools to do the job. The company’s City & Guilds accredited dementia training course has now been delivered to over 1,500 Home Instead CAREGivers, empowering the CAREGivers and giving them the appropriate skills and confidence to deliver the highest quality care to clients.
