RIGHT at Home UK’s programme of ‘measured growth’ is right on track, with its seventh office soon to open in Malvern and plans to award an eighth franchise in Farnham.
UK master franchisor, Ken Deary, says his slow-and-steady expansion strategy will allow the company to give unparalled levels of support as franchisees start up their businesses, providing high quality in-home care services.
Right at Home has more than 250 offices world-wide, so its brand is established and the business model is well proven.
The five franchisees that joined Right at Home UK last year are all now trading and beginning to see the fruits of their labour. And by attracting an innovative group of early trailblazers, Ken benefits from their input as he tailors the model for the UK quality home care market.
Four months after receiving registration from the Care Quality Commission, Andree Kerr, owner of Right at Home Wimbledon & Putney, is now providing sizable care packages and topping the billing among franchisees.
She said: “It’s great to be providing care hours now – I’m really enjoying it.
“The feeling of job satisfaction is huge because you’re making such a difference to people’s lives, helping them with family issues that can cause such enormous stress.
“We’ve been marketing, talking and networking all the time but it’s very much relationship-driven and it takes time to build up those relationships. So the burn is slow, but we’re really reaching out to the community now.”
Andree adds: “I have had a hand in developing the new UK marketing materials and we’re very pleased with how those have turned out. I am expecting them to get really well-received at the public events and local exhibitions we have lined up.”
Right at Home’s first franchisee, Tim Haigh, owner of Right at Home (Sutton and Epsom) has been impressed with the head office response to his first minor crisis.
He said: “Operations Manager Gail Wright has been massively supportive, since personal reasons forced my Registered Manager to hand in her notice. From doing my invoicing and payroll to hopefully helping me reel in a really big care package, she’s been fantastic.”
