InXpress innovate again

Craig Atkins, franchise owner at InXpress Reading, has just expanded his business by adding a warehouse. The warehouse is designed for small e-commerce customers to free up their home space and store it at Craig’s premises where Craig and his team will also deal with dispatching their goods as the orders are completed. This is just one example of the ways in which franchisees can add additional revenue streams to their businesses in order to meet changes in market demand.

“I’ve set up a mini distribution centre from my office premises. We have just expanded into bigger premises and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to offer this new service. When talking to SME’s it became more and more obvious that they needed a solution to free up their garages and spare bedrooms. It was a great opportunity locally and when we found the premises it all seemed to fit together,” explains Craig.

They can come and stock check occasionally and have a coffee but we’re offering them a one-stop solution so that they can continue to build their businesses and go out to trade shows while we deal with the technicalities. At the moment we are targeting small businesses who work from home because the larger companies are too big for our premises at the moment!” adds Craig.

“Having a warehouse helps us to retain customers because once they stock with us, it becomes much harder for them to move their shipping services. We’re giving them a one-stop-shop which means they don’t have to handle any of the shipping side of things.”
