Dick Northcote, owner of FASTSIGNS® Watford in St Albans Road did a double-take when he saw TV star Jeremy Clarkson and writer A A Gill heading towards his sign and graphics centre yesterday.
The pair were in Watford working on a pre-election article for the Sunday Times. They spent ten minutes chatting with Dick and his wife Carolyn before going out into the town looking for election activity.
Said Dick: “I was idly looking at passing traffic from my front desk when I saw a chap who looked remarkably like AA Gill… when I then saw Jeremy Clarkson getting out of his Merc CLK63 I knew it WAS AA Gill! They came in to the store and chatted for 10 mins before setting off to look round Watford and see if there was any election buzz”
