The UK’s leading mobile network of accredited smart repairers, Revive! has announced that its annual charity karting event is to feature a very special race – a crack team of serving and ex serving injured troops from KartForce will be pitting their driving skills against Revive! sponsored British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) 2013 champion Andrew Jordan.
The KartForce drivers were all wounded during their service but that hasn’t stopped them jumping back into the saddle and the adrenaline filled world of motorsport. Their slogan is “You don’t need all your limbs to race… just British Bulldog Balls!”
As there’s a significant proportion of ex-military personnel now working at Revive!, KartForce seemed the ideal choice to be this year’s nominated charity for the annual karting day which takes place on Thursday 17 September at the TeamSport indoor karting track in Birmingham.
Revive! has been sponsoring top BTCC driver Andrew Jordan for the past four years and the karting event gives the company’s technicians the chance to meet Andrew and race against him.
Explained Revive! managing director Mark Llewellyn: “One of our head-office team saw a documentary on the television about KartForce and was blown away by the inspirational attitude of both the charity and the men who have rebuilt their lives through taking part in competitive karting.
“Here at Revive! we have built our business on striving for excellence and meeting tough challenges and the work KartForce does underlines how determination and self-belief can turn round lives. We’re excited about the day and we won’t go down without a fight! Even Andrew is worried – he knows how competitive those KartForce lads are.”
KartForce was set-up by Dave Player, an Ex-Royal Engineer and wheelchair user from a spinal injury. Because the men have so many different injuries, including missing fingers and thumbs, KartForce had to design a new set of hand control that give the drivers full performance from the karts allowing them to race on a level playing field in mainstream races.
Commented Dave: “The lads are really looking forward to this race. They love taking on top drivers like Andrew Jordan, so it’s going to be interesting. They take no prisoners!”
There’s also an opportunity too for one lucky team of four to join the Revive! Karting Championship. To enter the free competition visit https://www.revive-uk.repair/revive-karting-2015. A winner will be drawn at random after the closing date of 7 September.
Revive!’s customers include car dealerships, manufacturers and private motorists. Cosmetic repair is a top quality, cost effective and time-saving alternative to taking the vehicle to a bodyshop for minor paintwork or alloy wheel repairs.
