Juliet Price, Chairwoman of the Institute of Directors (Essex) and Jenny Boreham, owner of FASTSIGNS® in Chelmsford, are encouraging business people in Essex to ‘stick together’ during the current tough economic climate.
Juliet explains: “We have been lobbying the public sector to use local suppliers for some time and we are now asking the Essex business community to do the same. We want to keep local business opportunities in Essex where at all possible. Times are tough but by sticking together we can help each other through the current downturn.”
Jenny Boreham, has been running her local sign and graphics business for over 12 years and is a member of the Institute of Directors in Essex. It was during a recent Breakfast meeting, spurred on by a discussion about the impact of the credit crunch that Jenny came up with the ‘Team Essex’ idea.
Jenny said: “We want to create a mutually supportive business climate in Essex, to help us all keep trading through 2009.”
Jenny is also encouraging local business people to attend a public meeting arranged by Essex County Council 10.30am – 1pm on 13 February at Waterfront Place, Chelmsford to discuss initiatives to keep the ‘Essex pound’ in Essex. Jenny said: “’I would encourage all business people to attend this meeting and make a contribution towards the positive action that is needed.”
Anyone interested in joining Team Essex can attend the regular networking events run by the IoD. To find out more, please fill out the form below.
