Management Skills Put Card Connection’s Newest Franchisee in Good Position

Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection has today announced it has recruited a new franchisee for the Kingston-Upon-Hull region. Former deputy managing director of the Urban Regeneration Development Trust, Graham Longbone, will now be responsible for supplying Card Connection’s quality range of more than 1,200 greeting cards to retail outlets across the region.

“In Graham’s previous role he managed a team of around 200 people in a corporate environment,” confirms Andrew Cutler, sales director of Card Connection.  “These management skills honed over the years, will prove invaluable when working with retail customers and puts Graham in a good position to build regional relationships with Card Connection’s national accounts which include the likes of Costcutter, Londis, Netto, Budgens, Spar and Haldanes.”

“At the end of a ten year contract with my previous employer, I was looking for a new opportunity that offered a similar degree of autonomy and yet also created the chance to develop and build a business of my own,” explains Card Connection franchisee, Graham Longbone.  “After thorough research I found Card Connection offered an established business opportunity, a quality product, the flexibility of self employment all combined with an excellent support package.

“Card Connection has an unparalleled reputation within the industry and is a long standing member of the BFA,” continues Longbone.  “In addition, the Kingston-Upon-Hull territory that was available had been established since 1992 and had a solid sales history.

“Joining Card Connection will involve a steep learning curve but my strategy is to build relationships with existing customers rapidly and to open new retail accounts,”  confirms Longbone.  “Longer term, I will aim to build a small team to expand the business further.  It is a truly exiting prospect!”

Card Connection has limited UK vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business.  Successful candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, they would be expected to employ a small team, operate a warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Because the franchise networks in the UK and Ireland are complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee.  These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20,000 (+ stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50,000 per annum.  For further information and for a list of territories for sale simply fill in the form below.
