Leading SMART repair franchise Revive! has appointed franchising guru Melvin Lusty as a non-executive director to help drive strategic growth.
Managing director Mark Llewellyn first met Melvin over 15 years ago through the British Franchise Association (BFA). It became clear very quickly that the two men shared similar vision and values and Melvin has been acting as an unofficial mentor to Mark and his fellow director Terry Mullen for the past decade. He was the key speaker at Revive!’s annual conference last year.
Now Revive! has decided the time is right to formalise the relationship. The company has grown year on year since it was established in 2004, and Melvin’s considerable expertise in van-based service franchises places him in the ideal position to advise the Revive! Board of Directors as they take the business to the next level. Melvin built the Rainbow International cleaning franchise to a multi-million pound company prior to its sale in 2004 and is now Chairman and majority shareholder of Chemex International.
Commenting on the appointment, Revive! Managing Director Mark Llewellyn said: “I’ve known Melvin for a long time. I admire his business acumen and his track record speaks for itself. We get on extremely well and he’s been a huge help to me and the business, generously giving us excellent advice and sharing his insights.

Revive! specialises in repairing minor scuffs and scrapes to vehicle bodywork and alloy wheels. It has the largest network of SMART repairers in the UK and was the first to receive Automotive Technician Accreditation. Recent developments include partnering with Ford to deliver an intelligent repair programme across the Ford Accident Repair Centres (FARC) network and involvement in the Tesco Clubcard scheme.
It is the preferred supplier of SMART repairs to major car dealerships and fleet operators. Revive!’s customers include Alfa Romeo Fiat, Lex Autolease and Mercedes. The company works closely with the Institute of the Motor Industry to drive up standards and as a result has paved the way for smart repair to become a top quality alternative to bodyshops for minor vehicle damage.
