Two Apprentice Sign Makers from the Signs Express network have been nominated as Finalists in the British Sign and Graphics Association’s Young Sign Maker of the Year award.
Alice Dowle from Signs Express (Exeter) and James Stuchbury from Signs Express (Sheffield) are both being recognised for their extraordinary dedication and ability to learn new skills.
Alice Dowle has worked at the Exeter branch of the UK’s leading sign company since the age of 17 and was nominated for the award by Marion Baxter-Sibley, Director of Signs Express (Exeter). Marion referenced Alice’s incredible drive and determination to learn as many skills as possible to become an invaluable member of the team.
James Stuchbury was nominated by owner of Signs Express (Sheffield), Steve Morris who cited James’ fantastic ability to learn new skills very quickly. Combined with organisational skills, James has been able to take on Production manager duties at a very young age, freeing the current manager up to focus on sales.
Craig Brown, Managing Director of the Signs Express network, stated “We, as a network, are only as good as our team and I am immensely proud of all of our Sign Makers. These nominations are well deserved by both Alice and James and I wish them both the best of luck in the awards.”
Both nominees will be going up against two other Sign Makers from other companies in the UK finals. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on November 9th at the Athena Events Centre, located in the heart of Leicester’s cultural quarter. Good luck to all of the nominees.
