Positive Friendship Goals

From tots to teens, finding new experiences for a child is an important part of the development process.

Whatever age the child is, it can be challenging to join in with a new class or enter a new environment, even if it is something they think they will love.

To help to encourage youngsters to try something new, Razzamataz Theatre School is hosting a ‘National Bring a Friend Day’ on March 3rd to allow current students to invite a friend along for the day to let them experience performing arts fun.

There are almost 50 schools within the Razzamataz network and each child that attends will be presented with a voucher to entitle a friend of their choosing the chance to join them at Razzamataz and take part in the dancing, singing and acting classes at no cost.

“We have had sessions in the past where students have brought friends along and it has been very successful,” says Denise Hutton-Gosney, MD and Founder of Razzamataz. “We decided to make it a national event because we know that joining a new group by yourself can be very daunting so to help more children and their parents make positive changes in their life, we decided to open it up nationally and encourage as many children as possible to benefit from performing arts training.”

Performing arts stimulates all children’s creativity, from the shyest student to the most outgoing. It gives children the skills in which to better express themselves, leading to increased confidence and self-esteem. Speaking to some of our parents in our Razzamataz schools, it is clear that parents don’t pay for their child to learn performing arts, they do it for the chance for them to learn invaluable life skills and take part in events that will create life-long memories.

Ashley Hale-Brown, parent at Razzamataz Maidstone, was blown away after a recent performance opportunity at Disneyland® Paris. “The Maidstone Razzamataz students were totally amazing, one of my proudest moments. I never wanted it to end and know we’ve made friends for life. A fantastic bunch of people who made it extra special. If you get the opportunity to do it in the future, go for it.”

Razzamataz offers a wide range of performing arts styles for youngsters age 2-18 including current trends that are accessible to children and teenagers. Classes consist of dance, drama and singing and the curriculum covers the whole of the performing arts, from classic West End musical theatre to street dance, pop singing and acting for camera.

For many parents, Razzamataz is giving their children opportunities to develop positive attributes that will serve them well throughout their lives. Having the opportunity to come along to a class with a friend will help children to have the confidence to try something new and even make new friends.

“Performing arts teaches so much more than just how to wow people on stage,” explains Denise. “It instills commitment, teamwork, dedication and a strong can-do attitude. It’s very rewarding to see our students progress and grow in confidence.”

Razzamataz is proud to be a member of the bfa and was delighted to receive a 5 Star Franchise Satisfaction Award from the Smith & Henderson survey. Our franchisees come from a wide range of backgrounds with our top earners turning over circa £250,000 per annum.
