Revive! Sets the Standard with New National Cosmetic Qualification

Revive! Auto Innovations has achieved IMI Awards centre approval to offer Quality Assured Awards (QAA) for their new National Cosmetic Qualification.

Andy Frounks, lead external verifier for IMI Awards presents the IMI centre approval award to Mark Llewellyn, managing director of Revive!(centre) on the company’s stand at the recent British Franchise Exhibition. Sir Bernard Ingham, president of the British Franchise Association (right) was the first to congratulate Revive! on the accreditation.

The market leading company can now offer National Cosmetic Qualification (NCQ) under the IMI Awards QAA programme to technicians completing a five week training course at Revive!’s head office in Rugby.

Andy Frounks, lead external verifier for IMI Awards presented the centre approval plaque and certificate to Revive! at the recent National Franchise Exhibition at the NEC.

Revive! managing director Mark Llewellyn has been at the forefront of the campaign to raise standards within the cosmetic SMART repair industry. Chairman of the recently established VBRA cosmetic SMART repair working party, he represented smart repairers on the Institute of the Motor Industry working party set up two years ago to develop a suite of National Occupational Standards (NOS) for paintless dent removal and SMART cosmetic repair many of which were based on Revive!’s professional processes.

The work is now completed and the standards have been submitted to the UK Commission for Employment and Skills for approval. In the meantime Revive! has put the QAA in place to ensure that all Revive! trained technicians achieve the exacting standards developed by the IMI.

Said Mark Llewellyn: “Cosmetic techniques have an important role to play in the vehicle repair model, but without recognised standards, quality has been historically patchy with some rogue mobile operators giving our industry a bad name. We’ve worked extremely hard with organisations including the IMI and the VBRA to drive home the need for a set of national standards for cosmetic smart repairs and I’m delighted that our own professional processes have earned us this important status as an IMI approved training centre.”

Said Andy Frounks: “IMI Awards are pleased to welcome Revive! Auto Innovations to our approved centre network. Revive! produced a comprehensive training and assessment programme which also has to be externally verified to gain IMI Awards QAA approval status. I am pleased that this aspect of the industry will now receive recognition for the training and development they are doing within the sector.”
