Revive! Technicians in Conference Hakka

Anyone arriving late for the recent 11th annual Revive! conference would have been forgiven for thinking they’d walked into a New Zealand rugby training session.

The mobile vehicle paint repair franchise laid on a Hakka workshop led by a Maori husband and wife team as the ‘wake up’ activity after lunch. Over 100 delegates and guests learned some of the chants and moves made famous by the New Zealand players before facing each other to perform a Revive! version of the Hakka.

Said Revive! managing director Mark Llewellyn: “As a former professional rugby player myself and avid Wales fan, we decided to give the conference a loose sporting theme to introduce the company’s new brand value of ‘Unity’. Here at Revive! we’re just one big team. It’s important that we are united in the desire to drive the business forward and strengthen our position as the UK’s largest network of accredited mobile vehicle paint specialists.

“A lot happens in the course of a year and the conference gives us the opportunity for everyone to get together for an update on our performance so far and for us to share our strategy for 2015 and beyond with the network.

“Everyone had a great day and I think we got the balance between having fun and doing a bit of serious work just right.”

After his welcoming address, Mark Llewellyn introduced keynote speaker Andy McCann who spoke about visualising success.

A major stroke 20 years ago set the former PE teacher on a different path. Now fully recovered he is a performance coach and mentor to sporting superstars and his latest book Winners co-written with Alistair Campbell is currently top of the Sunday Times best seller list.

Revive! sponsored BTCC racing driver and 2013 champion Andrew Jordan opened the afternoon session. He spoke about his exciting plans for the 2015 season which sees him moving from the Honda team to join the Factory MG team, Triple Eight.

Throughout the day franchisees took part in specialist workshops led by head office staff Paula Spriggs and Amanda Paul and leading experts in their fields including change management specialist Claire Sutherland, public relations consultant Lindsay Jones and personal trainers Sam Pashley and Callum Hardingham.

The formal part of the conference was closed with a technical questions and answerer session with Geoff Martin from Akzo Nobel which was followed by a suppliers showcase hosted by LKQ coatings, 3M, Akzo Nobel and the Perry Appleton Group.
