Seniors Helping Seniors - Managing client needs in a post-lockdown world

A look at how the care franchise is navigating client needs in a post-lockdown society.

People are keen to get their lives back on track by doing their own shopping and catching up with important GP and hospital visits, sight and hearing tests. Understandably many find all the new rules and risks a bit daunting, so the current theme for our care services at Seniors Helping Seniors is accompanying people to do their shopping, to the GP etc.

During the lockdown we did all the shopping, sanitised it and stocked our clients’ fridges, taking the opportunity of some critical fridge management at the same time!

The care we are asked for currently has a special emphasis on all the jobs people haven’t been up to doing for themselves during the lockdown. Cleaning floors and changing beds are enormous tasks for the frail and we are delighted to help provide more hygienic living conditions for people.

Life is getting back to normal slowly. Seniors Helping Seniors is busy in all offices but we have maintained capacity and we can match the rapidly rising demand in our communities because we have continued to hire new carers, even during the lockdown.
Services like Age UK’s centres will not open until the end of the year so in-home support and activities are vital.

We are thrilled how well our carers supported people during the lockdown. They visited clients for essential care services but they also helped by raising confidence and keeping people on track.

The photo speaks volumes about community during the lockdown and how hard this generation works at keeping themselves well.

The guidance and support our companion care provides took in many new activities over the last 12 weeks – there was a big emphasis on gardening, online museum visits, virtual choirs and the like. So much ingenuity came from our carers and the effort we put into matching carer to client by common interest was so beneficial.

“We are proud to be a specialist employer for older people, offering local work people love to do with pay above the real Living Wage” Christian Wilse Owner Seniors Helping Seniors (UK) Ltd says Anyone looking for franchise in South East and East UK that has grown during the lockdown and is even stronger coming out of it.

To help with demand for our services and to help people get started in their own business, the owners have reduced the franchise fee to £20K from the £25K pre-pandemic fee.
