Tutor Doctor welcomes two new offices post-lockdown
With education being thrust further into the limelight since the return to school, the demand for extra-curricular support has witnessed a substantial increase. Two new franchising couples were welcomed into the Tutor Doctor UK network after spotting the opportunity to build a profitable business, whilst providing a much-needed service to their local communities.
Husband-and-wife team, Andrew and Karen Croy launched their Solihull-based Tutor Doctor business at the beginning of September and are already off to a flying start. Prior to being a HR Manager with the NHS, Karen was a HR Manager at a private school in Bangkok, whilst Andrew has spent the last 20 years working in learning and development. Their skill sets put them in the best position to thrive with the in-home tutoring franchise.
“With education being such a hot topic right now, we recognised our opportunity,” said Andrew. “As an added bonus, we can also have an impact by giving something back. We’re both passionate about developing people and championing them to be the best version of themselves – something which is situated at the heart of Tutor Doctor.
“Although we have experience in running businesses, we identified that the best way for us to be profitable is by tapping into the expertise of an international brand, with its proven model and existing network of successful franchisees. We’ve felt extremely welcome since day one and we’re excited for what’s in store.”
The continued growth of Tutor Doctor’s global network is due to the rise in demand for their services throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Franchisees have stepped up to the plate almost overnight and provided both students and parents alike some much-needed support during the stressful time. Andrew and Karen were joined by fellow UK newbies, Rakhi and Manoj Gohil, who launched their office in Whitton, south west London.
All new franchisees attended their initial training virtually, logging in from all corners of the world. Although it’s a little different to the usual in-class style, the comprehensive programme equips new franchisees with the tools and knowledge needed to hit the ground running, whilst a dedicated support structure and ongoing training empowers franchisees to reach their potential.
As the new academic year is well and truly underway, Tutor Doctor are expecting an increased interest as people look to launch a business that makes a difference.
“It comes as no surprise that, whilst entrepreneurs are searching for a robust and worthwhile opportunity, they turn to education,” said Frank Milner, Tutor Doctor President. “Our customers have always needed year-round support but during this time, it’s needed more than ever. September hails the start of a new academic year for all British students, all of which will have been affected by what is happening – it’s our role, as education experts, to offer a helping hand and make the transition a lot easier and less stressful. It’s incredibly rewarding to have franchisees helping families navigate challenging times, as well as seeing future franchisees discover the opportunity with us.”
There are now 74 Tutor Doctor franchisees in the UK who operate 147 territories between them.
“Whilst we’re looking forward to working together again as a couple,” said Karen, “It’s extremely exciting to be doing something that will have a lasting impact on families in our community – including our own.”
