Our story
“In December 2016 we were looking to help Rachel’s retired parents retain their independence for as long as possible. As a result, we heard about the fantastic service that Driving Miss Daisy was providing to seniors and people with mobility issues. At that time, there was no Driving Miss Daisy coverage in the Bognor area where Rachel’s parents are based. This was a light-bulb moment for us! Becoming franchise owners allowed us to help our family and others in similar circumstances. It also presented us with a great business opportunity.”
Taking the plunge
“In April 2017, after living 28 years in Cape Town, we sold our house, packed up our animals and moved back to the UK. We collected our first wheelchair accessible vehicle on 6th June 2017 and launched our business officially. Our area of coverage is centred on North Bersted and will accommodate people living in Bognor Regis, Chichester and Littlehampton.”
Our backgrounds
“Julian’s background is as a Health, Safety and Environmental Consultant for the Oil & Gas Industry. He is a keen golfer when time permits. Rachel’s background is in logistics and she was a founding partner of a virtual concierge service business in South Africa. She loves surfing, dog walking, ballroom dancing and visiting historical sites.”
