Empowering Women In Business

The British Franchise Association (bfa) are excited to announce the return of Empowering Women In Business (EWIB), an occasion solely for women, being held at the Nottingham Belfry on November 15th, partnered by NatWest.

Previously known as Women in Franchising, it has been reinvented to include women from all walks of business life. With women-led businesses contributing about £75 billion to the UK economy, it is important to recognise these achievements. The bfa appreciates the importance of celebrating and championing the women who have gone and achieved their goals and dreams, even with the odds against them.

EWIB has previously seen hundreds of Britain’s best businesswomen in attendance, providing advice and discussing experiences. It’s the perfect chance for women to share their journey, inspire and be inspired and connect with like-minded women.

To provoke discussion and to open up these experiences, there will be panelist sessions, with thought-provoking topics such as overcoming-barriers and leadership, as well as presentations designed to educate and empower.

The three key themes this year revolve around the following areas:
·        Leadership; rise to power, leadership style, mentors, awards
·        Culture; overcoming obstacles, breaking down walls and rebuilding, women supporting women
·        Well-being; balancing responsibilities, struggles, needs, teamwork

The day Imagewill have inspirational speakers such as Toni Eastwood OBE, a pioneer of researching gender issues in the workforce, Sarah Kelly, CEO for StageCoach Performing Arts, Sarah Bilby, Managing Director for Business Banking in London at the South East at NatWest and Laura Harvey-Smith QFP, Franchise Development and Recruitment Consultant at The Franchising Centre. They will motivate, share experiences and inspire all attendees and provoke discussion around the issues of today.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchise Association, highlights the importance of the event and why people should attend. “This is one of my favourite events on the bfa calendar. Created six years ago, it was a way of recognising the need to advocate the brilliant accomplishments of women in business and also franchising, and how far we have come as a society. The themes change every year to reflect the needs of today, create debate and provide a platform for women to share their own experiences on certain topics. I’m proud of how far this event has come, and I look forward to connecting with some fantastic women this November!”
